A is a very close second

 

I chose C as I feel it has the best eye appeal.

 

C, eye appeal.

 

C for me...Overall appeal is best.

 

A) 1938-D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS67

C) 1938-D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS67+




I just purchased C which has far better luster and eye appeal than both A&B and will be replacing B in my registry collection despite the drop in points.

Totally expected, as far as I see it. Only surprise for me was that C was not a +* grade. It deserves the star, for extreme eye appeal.

 

I like C a lot, so I'll choose C

 

Don’t feel bad for coin A, as it is getting a new home next week.

 

I did NOT see the above posted pix (since they're on the 2nd page) when I voted.

I didn't particularly care for A, so it came down to B or C. I voted C because I like the mix of the toning with the background "white" of the coin. It also looked a touch cleaner than B.

 

What is interesting is that in NGC's eyes B is the superior coin. But for Lehigh expert eye, C is the superior coin and the correct one for his registry set!

 

While I think C is the more attractive coin from a color/toning perspective, I chose B.

B is clearly better struck (important to me), has significantly less high point pitting (important to me), and overall is still an attractive coin. A and C both have way too much high point pitting for me to want them - and C has significant marks in the hair and over his ear that detract from the coin. These marks are significant enough for me to wonder why it got the Plus.

In the end it is your collection and I am glad that you are building it with coins you like. I just would have chosen differently based on my tastes and priorities.
