Exactly why I don't like buttons - because people tend to push them just for the fun of it.

BUT - if somebody takes the time and spends the effort to actually type something out - you can be reasonably certain they actually mean it, that what they say has real meaning behind it ;)

And then ya might wanna think about this - suppose I decide I like to push buttons ? Why I might start some of these like the ones underneath your post -

Maybe even some of those that say Edit or Delete !

That's the kinda thing that can happen when somebody decides they like pushin buttons :D

I could see where my post might make you want to do that.

I hate to point out the obvious......
But you are doing exactly the same thing.
You use Emojis rather than type out longhand the feeling you are trying to convey.

Nahhhhhhh, not at all. Emojis convey emotion, something that's often pretty hard to convey with the written word.

Buttons, well they're just buttons, they don't convey emotion. They're just there for lazy people :D

Actually, and I didn't say it earlier, I have always thought that emojis were the lazy way of telling one what you think. And, for the most part, have thought they were rather stupid. However, many people enjoy using them, so who am I to criticize. Whereas you can push the like button to let someone know that you appreciated what they said without getting long winded, or boring people with needless rhetoric.

How do you increase knowledge with a like button???

You don't, but you show the person you appreciate their comment.

While avoiding useless chatter that dilutes the pithy commentary of a great conversation.

Not that it’s an issue in this thread...
