If it is equally "misaligned" on the reverse it is a slightly misaligned strike. If it is only on the front it is a MAD or misaligned die...in either case pretty common, worth keeping but don't expect to quit your day job
Its a spender, (unless you like it) it has to be misaligned more than that for a premium. also uncirculated for value above face, with modern coinage, has to be really neat for these tight wads to spend any money.
Probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway.....how clear is it to see a spitting eagle? I see alot of strong n weak pictures of them...are they pretty evident?
Oh ok thanks.....I see that alot of people either damage the coin to try and trick someone...n alot thinking they have one... but the crack is so faint u can barely see it.. thanks for answering my stupid question lol
Actually a real spitting eagle for attribution is an error, its a die clash. what you see is Washington s throat. there are other markers on it. for it to get label. its important to know because, of fake spitting eagles on the market.
its not a stupid question. post a picture, of the reverse, you may have a die clash. that picture I posted is just an overlay so you can see the other side. where the dies may have clashed.
