Gordian III is too addictive. At one point I had 20 silver coins of his... but I finally decided enough was enough and sold all but my 5 favorites. As much as I like his coinage, it was good to free up that money and use it towards diversifying my collection a little more.
Interesting. Wondering about the pricepoint + quality aspect of GIIIs, etc. From a newbie perspective, my primal tendancy (frequently incorrect) is to try to snatch up nice looking thingies that look relatively cheap. Which prices out items like say, Athenian Owls...which turn out to have massive availability. I'm wondering if this means quality GIII ants exist in huge quanitity, and what drives that inventory backlog? Lack of demand, already filled that spot in a collection, not notable to the layfolks, etc. Or none of the above?
