I am on vacation in Russia, staying with my mother in law in St. Petersburg. I came across this vending machine in the supermarket today and my wife and kids couldn’t pull me away from it. In addition to recent Russian circulating commemoratives it had a number of American coins and even a Churchill crown. I bought a 2009 Lincoln Formative Years set for my brother in law for 100 rubles and picked up the following souvenirs that I will likely remember for a long time: 75th Anniversary of the Lifting of the Siege of Leningrad Russian Geographical Society Crimean Strategic Offensive (WWII) It seems that coin collecting may be more popular in Russia than in the United States. Has anyone seen any vending machines like this one?
That's totally awesome! The only one I've seen as pretty as that stateside was a condom machine. Much prefer the Russian version (as long as you don't need the other one afterward )
There are those utterly convenient thingies called currency converters. Online, free to use. ₽100 is $1.57 or €1.40 or £1.26 or ... Christian
