Just found this on the floor. Now I want a usb microscope. Cant wait to get home and put the loop on it. Is it an error that you can tell? Anyone? Also in the next post I'm gonna throw the 1972 that was next to it on

Slight misaligned die strike. Yes, it's a mint error, but you can see all you need to see with the naked eye; putting it under a loupe or a microscope will only show you distractions.

Is this considered a large date?

Yes it is a large date 1982. The holy grail is the 82-D small date . Easiest to tell by the number 2 , in the small date it has a rounded part on the 2 close to where it connects to the bottom of the number . Someone will correct me if I am wrong. I do not have the link that shows them well. Maybe someone can chime in and provide the small date link. Dillan

yes the the 2 is almost touching the rim small dates set further in inorder to determine the type you must weigh it 7 types depending sm lg and composition!

Just found out today we have a local coin dealer unadvertised with weird hours that has the books I need. Like 11-4 hours I'm working then finding coinage. And my real job. Lol

Oh I just remembered 3.11 copper 2.5 zinc. But I will double check that

That's right. But none of the P varieties (large/small date, copper or zinc) are especially valuable, IIRC.

I meant that none of the four major variants (copper or zinc, small or large date) are valuable in general.

If you ever find me offering a bunch of 1982-P cents for sale, keep in mind that you'll be able to cherry-pick varieties from them to your heart's content, because I'm oblivious to them. ;)
