2017 cent

    Is the 3 marks between the date and the P on obverse. And it looks like the same 3 marks on the reverse on the shield under the N in cent damage? If not what is this called?

    Yes, that is all damage and just the bad luck of looking similar.

    That's just funny.
    Maybe somebody can answer my question.
    I know your not supposed to clean coinage. BUT
    I get coins out of what looks like a carwash vacuum. Dont like touching them but theres gold in dim dar hills

    You can clean these coins all you want, cant really lower the value on them. :)

    My youngest turns 37 tomorrow and my oldest is 40. Time flies.

    The marks on the coin are called reed marks or some just call them hits.

    Time to do what the Canadians did, and that's to eliminate the cent....a humble opinion that's gonna draw some flack, but I don't care.

    If they stay pristine. Most of these cents turn ugo in the
    'wild'.......

    Actually it may not be a bad idea. All of those cents I find laying in parking lots and other places may turn into nickels. People won't want all of those nickels in their pockets.

    The copper I keep. How many 2017's did the mint produce? They'll never be rare.......even in pristine condition. The zincolns I throw back into circulation.
