Off of Ebay (auction) a couple yrs ago. I'm still fairly new and with LOTS to learn. Especially with what sellers advertise their coins grade to be. This was described as uncirculated. And I fell into the trap because of being uneducated. But I've learned a great deal over these last few years. I believe that I paid $200. Which now I believe OUCH!
It's not. I just the enjoy Washington quarters. And knew that it was a key date. So thought that I'd grab it up.
I'm looking to buy a 36-D for my collection but haven't seen one I like due (IMO) to many be highly priced for the given grade. Judging by your photos and the lighting, and using PCGS Photograde, I honestly feel the wear on the Eagle's breast, legs, and wings, keep it out of the XF range. On other posts I've seen some members say the TPGs grade more by the obverse than the reverse but don't know how true that is.
Do you feel that it would be a waste of time and money to send it in for grading? And thank you for all of your insights
Going by the link I'm posting, it clearly shows I was wrong about your coin. If this graded XF=45, your coin may also grade that high. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254188178139?format=1&hlpv=1&cond=1 IMO it's not worth sending in if you're only sending one coin. You have the membership fee, postage, grading fee, insurance, etc. Maybe you can have your LCS send it in for you if you really want it encapsulated.
Well thank you for that info. I am a member with NGC. And I do have a few that I'd like to send in. I'll keep you updated and thank you so much for all of your time and the experience that you've shared with me.
