While searching for coins of Nerva on biddr and V-coins, I kept getting listings for Domitian! I wondered what was going on until it dawned on me ...

It was finding coins featuring Mi-nerva!!

Yep it can be annoying, but being forced to look at coins you wouldn't otherwise get to see isn't always a bad thing. A scarce 3/4 obol from Eion in Macedoia featuring a pair of geese and a "heart" (ivy leaf) is high on my want list for both aesthetic and personal reasons. Naturally, when "Eion" is plugged in I find lots of items from Adramytteion, Sigeion or coins with Gorgoneions! :wacky:

One day I'll get me one:

Tips from an IT guy - most search engines take booleans. Just tried it out on acsearch and this string narrows it down to coins under emperor Nerva and moneyers named the same:

    Nerva -minerva -Trajan -traian

That searches for "nerva" but excludes all listings with "Minerva" and also early coins of Trajan that use "NERVA(E) TRAIAN". Note that this will also exclude coins of Nerva that contain something like "...was succeeded by Trajan" in the description.
