Today July 6th is international kissing day ! For the romans, kissing was an important thing. The osculum was a kiss on the hand or cheek. On the lips with mouth closed and exclusively for family members, it was a basium. And the last type but not the least, the passionate kiss was called a suavium. This is my only coin depicting a kiss : Hadrian drachm Alexandria 130-131 AD Alexandria kissing Hadrian’s hand Please post your coins related to this special day. P.S. You coins collectors friends, I all kiss you ! (Osculum)
