    Hi all,
Yesterday I did 2 Metal Detecting trips. First hunt was at my local park. Only 3 hours since my back was hurting from the beach hunt I did on Thursday.

The second hunt is in an area of the East River NY that is exposed at low tide. Most finds there are corroded coins due to the brackish waters and currents that tumble them over the years.

    Years of corrosion!

Nice finds...... you said your dime was a 1965 but it looks like it is a 1964, so I think you have silver.

My mistake! I fixed it in the title. That would of been a transitional error if it was 1965!
    Thanks!

Is the East River fresh or salt water?

Mostly salt.. But in upper Manhattan the Hudson River feeds into the East River which is actually a Sound. True name is The East Sound.

Great finds and photos @paddyman98 !
It looks like there was a dock that used to go out from the beach there in one photo. Very cool!
I wonder if there is more coins in that area because people used to walk out on the dock?!

I would think @paddyman98 would be like any treasure hunter. A basic area but specifics? You are correct about human travelways though....mine happens to be High School football bleachers and the team sidelines especially 1 particular abandoned in the 70's but built in the 20's locale.... But where??? Stay tuned

@paddyman98 do you completely clean your finds? Or do some stay in au naturale' condition?

Nice finds @paddyman98 I've been wanting to start detecting,I live in the oldest town in Tennessee and would love to start hunting around here. Does anyone have a suggestion for a quality detector under 200$?
I've got a junk detector atm that I'm using and it does ok.....I need to upgrade.
Heres something I found last week,I'm guessing it was made for a belt buckle 20190706_140621.jpg 20190706_140632.jpg

I I was going to post my finds but my finds were sorry lol I think I dug up a burn pit. About 10 nails a few brackets to hold the doors up. Thin metal wires all In the same hole.. plus with burnt wood so that is why I say that lol
I dug it because it was a mid-range beep. Not iron. And then found 85 cents.
