This might give the greatest marker seen yet for a Rockwell Test. The crack from the pressure of Hardness Testing above Lincoln Memorial, which is incuse..... also the raised tip under the left side of CENT-T has a crack around it..... Only one of the 3 has the raised tip Under CENT-T, though. It has been said there will be more than one inside a coin’s field.
I just looked and sure enough both of the above mentioned are on the same coin at the same time. The off color metal plated obverse LIBERTY.
That’s fine.... but just needed inherently to find a reason a mule pattern die was allowed to be used.... which because of both Rockwell Tests in the field, I can lend a better proof of that... The one raised tip under Cent-C was the beginning.... the other two flattened it...
The only Pattern review of this mismatched mule die, is the squeeze on UNITED. A wide lower I-T, with a very narrow top of T. Which a Pattern’s definition and purpose is to potentialize the future use presentation.
I don’t even think it was a Rockwell Test that was the main use for two working hubs leading to the future form. But both of these separate FG forms are together on the third and final coin... the final FG took these two separate working dies before the third picture to propose its finality. It’s neat to see the Pattern height of G on the doubled subject that was proposed before. It only stood as tall as F’s lower arm.
