Wife’s Italian Lira necklace

    She really likes this recent purchase, so I thought I’d share.
    Have no clue to the authenticity of the coin.

    Real coin, but struck in aluminium.
    Is the bezel gold ?

    The bezel is gold.

    It’s a sentimental thing for the spouse. Her mother came to the USA from Italy after World War II. Ellis Island and the whole nine yards to get here.

    As far as I'm concerned, sentimental value is the greatest value there is. I have a 1842 small o half dollar that my uncle gave me when I was a little boy and for me that coin is very special. I would never think of selling it.
