I have not traded with any member from this site. Reason being i'm from Troll-land ... Africa and it's too difficult to send stuff from here and receiving stuff here. I would not hesitate one second to deal with members from this site.
Just because you haven't met them, that doesn't mean there aren't any. It just means you aren't aware of it yet. All would do well to keep that in mind. All would also do well to keep the rules of this forum in mind ! - and remember something. Just because one has a personal opinion of another, that does not mean the rules don't apply to you when speaking of that person. They most certainly DO APPLY to you ! And make no mistake, they will be applied to you. And of course when you break them, that's often times exactly what that person is trying to get you to do ! The thing that amazes me is how many of you fall for it !
I think it might be a good idea for me to add something here. Each and every person on this forum MAKES A CONSCIOUS CHOICE to do what they do, and what they don't do. Every single one of ya ! Take a look at post #20 - really look at it and let that message sink in ! If you really believe that any member, and I do mean any member, is only here to stir things up - then what's the smart thing for you to do to get them to simply go away ? The answer is so simple and it's right there in posts #20. Simply do not respond to them - not ever ! What's the absolute worst thing you can do ? Again the answer is so simple - respond to them, post a reply. That will absolutely guarantee they stick around ! Which is exactly what you supposedly do not want them to do. But yet YOU, YES YOU are the very reason they do stick around ! Yeah - IT'S YOUR FAULT ! When are you guys gonna wise up ? And no, don't even try and gimme any of this nonsense like why don't you just ban them ? Why ? Because they're not the ones breaking the rules - YOU ARE. So why don't I just ban you ? Banning you will solve the problem because they'll go away when you do. And if they break the rules they get the same treatment you do, you simply aren't aware of it. But they're smarter than you, they learn not to break the rules. It's the rest of you guys that don't. Want 'em to go away ? Simple answer, make a conscious choice to ignore them. We even give ya a button to do it with ! But ya don't need the button, all it requires is a little, just a little, self control on your part. So how 'bout making use of it ?
It is easy to avoid being scammed if you use common sense. 1. Assume and act like 99% of the population is out to cheat you and prepare accordingly. 2. Pay with PayPal using a credit card. 3. Never deal with anyone sketchy. Watch for red flags indicating manipulative or questionable behavior. 4. Post counts and the like are worthless as not everyone is as s/he seems. There was a decade plus long poster on the CU Forums that went rogue and cheated many people before he ended up in prison on unrelated matters. 5. If it sounds too good to be true, don't walk, RUN! Following these obvious tips, I have yet to be scammed.
For the record, I'll simply stipulate there are threads about it. People have been ripped off as a result of buying and selling here on CT - it happens. No, it doesn't happen very often but it most definitely does happen ! Go to any of the ad sections, you'll find this posted at the top of every one of them. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/warning-if-you-buy-here-you-may-get-ripped-off.316414/
I like the way this site handles this issue. We all have fair warning. Any issue is between the buyer and the seller and not the site. Just the way it should be.
I only recently came to know there was a whole communication language attached to these things. And only wonder how many times in the past I offended somebody using the wrong smile face.
To any Scammers, here or anywhere. "The bells of hell go ting-a-ling-a-ling for thee and not for me !"
You need to check yourself. Nobody says you have to like what these members say or agree with them. To be honest with you. Your far from being well rounded. Oops
That was ebay's warning in the early years as well. Language was a little different, but the same meaning.
