1977 Cent The subject that’s shows the origins of the double wide 7, doubling.

One of the three die progressions I just posted, shows the moment the 7 becomes a wide upper 7. The seven becomes doubled on the bottom that is still showing the modification actions. We can see two upper right corners and a separation doubling. Moving north also is seen in doubling along the southmost part of the upper 7. This double wide seven then stayed that way through the life of that year.... and is still visible on all 1977 Lincoln Cents and 1977D Lincoln Cents.
