Can anyone identify this error and give an idea as to its value?

Afraid not Fred, coins just don't interest her but she does have some common Cents. (Pun intended)

I do not believe the OP is really serious. He alludes to the poor quality of the pictures of the edge, but other than some intentional fun-house mirror special effects, there is no way that is the edge of any coin ever made in the U.S. The thickness to diameter ratio of a quarter is approximately 1:24. The "coin" in the picture is a little thicker than 1:4. Of course there is no reeding because that is not a coin. He has succeeded in irritating a lot of good folks, however.

I should know by now, if it's a "new" user talking about an "error" coin, and the thread has reached 3 pages, to just not click on it.
But then again maybe I can catch some profanities before the mods step in (sometimes work is slow:shy:).

Why do these people always use their full names? It makes it so easy to google and figure out motivations.

The "pictures" of the OP's coin look to me like the coin has been photo manipulated. ..aka Photoshopped..

Stick around, you'll see wisecracks from time to time.
