2018 Block Island Philly Quarter DDR all letters

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by jjohnson3582506, Jul 2, 2019.

  1. I thought new coins couldn't get this kind of spread on Doubling. I took this one pic but all lettering around the rim seems to spread to the right.. Do I have something worth submitting?

    Thanks

That is typical MD for incuse design elements. Not a true doubled die.

Apparently, you don't understand how true doubling occurs. The age of the coin has nothing to do with it. The doubling occurs when the hub transfers the design to the die.

I took his question as meaning...."I thought this couldn't have to new coins." I can't comment on the doubling.

I'm not experienced enough to be sure but this is NGC's idea of doubling.

If you look at the Block Island image supplied you can see how it may look similar to this in the bottom pic on the B and the L.

    Just saying...........
