Just won a few auctions, and picked up these toners, that are assorted low pop, apparently market acceptable toned coins. I am primarily a US coin collector, but have posted many of my British, South African, and assorted European coins before. Thoughts and comments very welcome.

I'm not a real fan of major toning (I generally find minimal toning acceptable as long as it doesn't "distract" from the coin, & that's really dependent on the coin...just my preference).

That said, I really like the coins posted here...all of them. ;)

I love the Bahamas silver coinage as a whole, especially the 50 cent, dollar, and 2 dollar pieces. Great choice!

Proceed with caution as mother nature’s showroom and edynamicmarketing are the same people.

Some of these may have been gassed and then sent for reholder service. Others might have just got through when PCGS wasn’t paying attention. A few of their listings appear MA, but most don’t.

I’ve also recently seen PCGS shut down (“poof”) several threads that were questioning how these coins were slabbed.

Here is one thread that still exists:

I was wondering, as I live near Orlando. Ocoee is all the other way on the other side of Orlando from where EDM is located. I don’t know if they are the same business or not. They do have lots of AT coins, but I only bought ones that had a Truview. That guarantees nothing, but makes it harder to fake—if the coin is gassed, it has to be done before it is slabbed, so then it is The TPG’s call. I also did not buy expensive coins—that whole lot cost me under $300 for all 8.

You should be ok at those prices.

I have seen evidence that they are the same people (same names on the packages when the coins arrive).

Also, from what I've heard: the coins are gassed in older holders and then sent in for reholder with TruView (so it never goes to the grading room). I believe PCGS might be catching on to this, but there has already been a lot of material that got through.

I would bet that most of mine are NT, as they aren’t garish, and they’d be losing money on the TruView and reholdering cost, given that these are not easily sold, like some US collectibles, where they can make huge profits. I just wish that we could catch them in the act, as these coin doctors give everybody a bad name, and render certification on toned coins useless. Glad PCGS is catching on, as it is about time. Maybe it is time I made a call to some friends I have in the Florida AG’S office. They are always cracking down on petty creeps with deceptive marketing.

Speaking of losing money, I’m surprised edynamicmarketing and this new account stay in business as many of their coins do sell for less than the cost of slabbing (unless they were receiving some form of bulk discount). Maybe the losses are used to offset other gains (which could be legitimate or not).

And I was hoping that PCGS would notice, but it might have taken too long as this seller has had multiple years of polluting the market with gassed and questionable coins.

Got the coins today, and the TruViews exaggerate the toning slightly. All of the 8 are definitely NT, and rather attractive. Guess I got lucky with this batch.
