Hi, I've done a fair amount of coin roll hunting with my father a long time ago. I have many coins, but this one seemed interesting to me just because of the drastic nature of the varying values the 1969 s Doubled Dye has been sold for. I am not very experienced when it comes to appraising coins, and I am certainly not seeking an official appraisal as of now. I just wanted to show some pictures of this coin to determine weather or not it truly is a 1969 s Doubled Dye penny. If anyone will take a look at this penny and tell me what they think, I would greatly appreciate your opinion. I don't notice very much about the date and numbers, but the border is very suspicious looking. I am a "coin noob" so I truly grateful for all opinions and feedback, including how much the coin could potentially be worth.
Here is some information on a true 1969 S Doubled Die Yours looks nothing like it http://lincolncentresource.com/doubledies/1969Sddo1.html
Sorry, as I said before, I am a "coin noob". ^_^ thanks. Can anybody shed some light on why the border splits on the left side of the penny?
