Is there an easy, online place to find the Overton variety of Capped Bust Halves? I read about the Overton variety on here a lot. As I was looking for mu R Thies counterstamped Washington quarter I found a couple of Bust halves as well. Any guidance is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Take large, well lit and sharply focused images of your coin(s) and post them in here.
There are several well informed people here who have the books to do the attributions.

    P.S. I'm not one of them :D

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use and how to attribute a Capped Bust Half. This should be interesting.

Their method is to start with the T-I alignment (there are pictures) and then narrow it down from there based off of letter/number/star placement

I am glad that there are better alternatives to the Overton book. Of all the books on early U.S. varieties, (Cohen, Sheldon, Browning etc.) it is my least favorite because it is so hard to use. Roger Cohen pioneered the best format for these books when he put the plates and the coins together with clear descriptions and limited jargon.
