While going through some coins from my mother’s collection, I came across these two dimes. After some research, I believe both of these dimes may have the reverse of 1968. Hoping someone will be able to confirm?
What's the difference? I never heard of .. Reverse of 1968 on 1970 Dime @Michael K You beat me by seconds with the response!
Here’s some info on this variety: http://www.error-ref.com/transitional-reverse-1969-1970-dime-with-proof-re/ http://www.varietyvista.com/07 Roosevelt Dimes/Reverse Design Varieties.htm Variety Vista indicates this variety is rare which may explain why you’ve not heard of it.

Why would they skip 69 and use the reverse dies of 68? And, did they make a design change between 68/69/70?
The high relief design was to be used on proofs, but apparently, you can find it on 1969 and 1970 dimes.
I could see a one year overlap but not two years. Seems like the dies from 68 would have been destroyed or stored before 1970. Maybe I'm missing something.
