I’ve been looking at your photos for a while. It seems that when you take a photo left of the MM, it seems like something, but when you take photos rim above or the right side, I see nothing beyond what looks more like MD.

Your coin doesn’t exhibit the notch from the top of the S on the D/S from PCGS

Even so, I would say it warrants further inspection. I don’t think the photos are working for us. Can you take a coin to a local coin dealer for in hand inspection?

A suggestion on lighting if your usb camera has a halo of lights around the lens. Carefully measure the inner and outer edge of the light ring and using a compass, draw on various thickness and color of paper the pattern, so the light passes through the paper when you put it over the front of the camera. Wax paper probably the most light to grayish tinge paper with white in the middle. This reduces and diffuses the light so not as many reflections that look like doubling, but really aren't , and other 'errors' that aren't , just lighting and shadows. If you are , or know someone who use to be a 35mm camera enthusiast, ask if they have some neutral density filters you can try as the will do a better job than paper. No Direct hi intensity lighting. IMO, Jim

  4. The lastest pics I uploaded to me show a pretty strong shape of a horizontal s. What is going through the middle of the D if it isn't a S? I don't normally see that in D mint marks?

  5. sorry just seen the posts.. The difference in photos is I was trying to find 1 of the 40 coins that showed it best so they are pics from a couple of the nickels. I will take it to a local dealer on Monday. Thanks for all the responses. I will keep ya'll posted

Lol. You can’t do that to us... we need a few photos of one coin at a time. I incorrectly assumed they were all the same coin. I agree with @desertgem that I think your light is possibly casting shadows. Looking forward to what the dealer has to say. Good luck!
