Going thru my 95s when I noticed this one has a large crack running down Lincoln’s nose. Definitely can be seen with the naked eye, what do you guys think would cause this?

This one is better, and here’s also one of the date and I swear I can see doubling in the 5

Looks to me like a unfortunate well place gouge, as I see moved metal at the tip of the nose.

Gouge as in pmd or a die issue?

I'm thinking PMD as if it was struck this way the metal would not be upturned, it would be flattened by the force of the strike. I know that's not what you were hoping for but it's just the way I see it. Maybe others will chime in and have something different to say. Keep up the hunt in the meantime!

The doubling on the 5 would be caused by die deterioration. I'm thinking that the nose issue could be a weird plating bubble. Linear plating bubble.
