How do I avoid glare and fake doubling on shinny coins?

For any photo, I always use 2x gooseneck lamps put approximately at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock, moving them around to get the best lighting. You can diffuse/soften the light with tissues or toilet paper placed in front of the light. Ensure you use a non-reflective, solid color item below your coin, generally black or white.
