My lowest mintage US coin is 1907 proof V-nickel.

It is the lowest of the series mintage at 1,475 pieces.

You wouldn't be rich because of the coin. You would have had to be rich to buy the coin in the first place!

I posted a collage of my top 9 lowest mintage on my Instagram recently, so here they are. As others have said, it’s worth noting that low mintage doesn’t necessarily mean it is rare. Some of the coins have survival rates likely >99%, while others are closer to 3%.

    1885 quarter eagle, mintage 800. I think PCGS estimates 300 survive. 1885_quarter_eagle.jpg

The 1836 Reeded Edge 50 Cent coin has a reported mintage of only 1500+.
However, availability indicates more than that were actually minted.
    Approx. 3000-5000.

In addition, I have these coins, but their exact mintages aren't known. PCGS has estimated survival counts, but I'm not sure I believe all of these.

    1942-D 2/1 Mercury Dime - 3,000
    1942/1 Mercury Dime - 3,500
    1918-D 8/7 Buffalo Nickel - 7,000
    1937-D 3-Leg Buffalo Nickel - 10,000
    1922 No D Lincoln Cent, Strong Reverse - 15,000

Also have the 1983 Double Die Reverse Lincoln Cent and the 1982 No P Roosevelt Dime, strong strike, but PCGS doesn't venture estimated survivals on these.
