    Hello, and thanks for reading!

I'm a complete newbie, but saw the site when I was trying to research this fob with inset coin/medal we have (see pic). It is a silver (I think) but unhallmarked, fob with the brass(?) disc/coin/medal inset to the front with a relief of what seems to be Saint George on horseback slaying a dragon, and the inscription "S: Georgius Eqvitum Patronus" around the rim. The fob opens to reveal a spring-loaded inner lid, which looks as though it could have been used to hold coins (sovereigns?)

If anyone can enlighten me as its origins, I'd be really grateful!

    Thanks
    Jo
