If indeed this was the first 1962 Tin Rockwell Test Die (the theory continued) by way of need of a surrogate tin free die depth relief model that the 1961 could not give, the damage done to this two against the three would be evidenced possibly if a modification could be found needing strengthening on an actual 1962. That’s what the second set of pictures show. We wouldn’t have known that the two possibly would be damaged for any reason but once we thought it might be, there was support to show the US Mint believed it necessary.
All I see is a bit of Progressive Indirect Die Transfer "Ghosting".. Look that up over at the error-ref website! Just a worn die strike.
If it wasn't for the fact that it took me years to accumulate all of these, I would be apt to believe that you emptied all of them in one day. Chris
Well, now that we know the inner ear of a 1962 Lincoln Cent is raised for some crazy (TIN) unexplainable reason.... we’ll be sure to keep our eyes open for some vague outline of Lincoln on the back of cents starting in 1909.
You are in serious need of some direction. You will have zero success in coins unless you do some study. Although some of the areas you are pointing out could be used as die markers which are common on all coins. What you have shown is nothing more than die deterioration. The mint gave the coin a polishing. Please stop you haven't a clue what you are talking about....
The MO of the posts by this person is quite similar to what I have seen in other groups - continuing until his removal from those groups. Is it you, Jeff???
Bob. Your starting to sound like a coin quack on crack. Your way to smart for us. You should try another coin page that can handle your brilliance.
Bob. Stop with the microscope or you'll lose your mind. If you cant see it with a X10 loop. Nobody cares. Try something new. WEIGH EVERYTHING Instead
There is a lot of misinformation out there that a person interested in this hobby could easily be misled. We are glad to help who ever has a listening ear.
I have seen this over the last four years. That's when I joined CT. We do have our fun and joke around, we agree to disagree but if one is willing to listen they will learn. If the members responding to a question agree then why argue. One of us might have been mistaken but not every one of us wrong. Listen to what the majority is saying.
