PR69DCAM is possibly the highest ever graded double struck mint error?

I think the high grade, DCAM, and significant enough rotation to show two full “LIBERTY” and “1998” combine to give this coin exceptional eye appeal.

Nice double struck, not sure how I missed this thread. The 69Dcam is one heck of a grade. Not sure if it is the best for a double struck. But definitely awsome for being in an album.
If you put it up for auction let us know how you made out if you will.
Thanks for sharing a great coin.

Just saw your post today. Nice double struck proof, @mithril21. I agree that PR69DCAM could be the highest grade for error, since grade 70 is supposed to be perfect. Any error would negate that perfection. So bad there’s no PCGS error registry to confirm that...

I was originally planning on selling it, but I’ve been getting more and more attached to this coin so now I am not sure. The fact that it is a 69DCAM with smooth reflective surfaces makes the under strike pop out so much more clearly compared to a non-proof coin. The only other double struck in collar proofs I have been able to find barely shows any rotation at all so it is hard to tell they are double struck, or they show obverse only rotation.

Very nice TrueView photo. Especially cool since it is a proof.

I have decided to consign this coin to Heritage Auctions for the ANA Worlds Fair of Money US Coins Signature Auction in Chicago from August 13-20. They provided an auction estimate of $5000+.
