    Let me pick a nit. A die chip doesn't "land" anywhere, it is a chip gone from the die. It has to be indented on the die to stand out above the surface on the coin. Not being critical, since I sincerely enjoy your enthusiasm!

    Yes, a die chip is literally a chip of metal,
    out of the die, leaving a raised blob of metal.
