Well thank you. I am probably 80% back to normal. Only issue I still have is stairs. Have to do them one at a time. But walking without pain is a wonderful thing!
If I had a time machine I'd go back to late 1916 early 1917 and get a few rolls of new 1916-D mercs and 1916 SLQ's. That would do, I'm not greedy.
Yeah, because the time travelers who hit the line for 1933 double eagles are probably cursing their luck about now.
I wouldn’t even know where to begin grading a coin like this, because it doesn’t have a lot of detail to wear off, and I can’t get any read on the luster from the photo. But, judging by the obverse rim, I’m gonna go with VF-35.
I'll shoot straight here..... The GTG was maybe an unfair question. This is a details coin. And my collecting is founded entirely on enjoying the history of the piece so the details label is entirely acceptable to me..... And the only reason that it was affordable to this working man.
Nice coin!! I'm wondering about what looks to me like a rim ding and being a bit off center. Would that get you a details grade?
That one came into your collection, saying, "Move over, boys!" Lol. But great buy, Randy. That's a great-looking one, too, far as they go.
What did they detail it for... cleaning? Looks pretty acceptable to me for 18th century copper and the color looks right from the photos.

That certainly looks like it could be one and the same. I been scouring the web for two days trying to find this and I believe you just did. Thanks for that! Edit.... And the cool thing I just discovered is that my NGC barcode reader works on a computer screen.
From the heritage auction site... ...looks like an original - the "A" crosses on top of the "S". OP's origianl pic was too small to see this detail.
