Slanted one

    Hello my name is douglas and I came across a 1981 no mint penny with a slanted one in the year 1981 Wich the one looks like this "/" has anyone ever seen one like that? Would very much appreciate some feed back so thank you and have a great day!!!!!?

    Photo would help but most likely damaged from a coin rolling machine

    Photos are usually always needed.
    Copper is very pliable. A number or letter can take a hit (damage) and move on the face of the coin.
    Coin doctors have been altering coins with this method for years.

    I vote damage.

    Yes I have.. many times.
    It is just damage to the numeral 1. Most likely from a coin wrapper crimping machine.
