I found this while coin roll hunting. Any idea on how much it's worth? I'd guess about $5, considering you don't find this kind of thing normally, and it's not very far off center. But I honestly know nothing about the value of this error.

Slightly MAD. Not enough to make it worth more than face value. Ideally your MAD coin should be missing some of the design elements like mine below:

Mine is cutting off a little on the word "Liberty" but it's not very much. Sorry, I forgot to mention that in the description. But if it is still only face value, then I won't be disappointed.

I don't know value wise, minor cosmetic issues, looks like the obverse die misaligned. nice find, a keeper for sure.

Not enough to make it a keeper IMO.

As you originally thought it was an off center strike instead of a misaligned die strike, it might be good to keep as a reference coin. Maybe start a 20 pocket page with just reference coins to look back on when you find other anomalies like this. A learning tool if you will.

It is ok that you created this thread in the Coin Chat forum.. but it would be much better if any future threads you create over at the Error Coins forum. There you can ask what kind of error it could be. Or if it even is an error. Then you worry about value last. Most minor mint errors have very little or no premium at all.

It's worth about five cents. You can buy a nice 1950-D (key date) nickel for about five dollars.
