Opinions on this SLQ in a Capital?
FH? MS? Should I get it graded?

i dont know about grading her.. but she is a beautifll coin!!! hopefully the scratches are on the holder and not the coin. They do look to me to be on the holder so. ...

The coin is indeed a beauty! Looks like it was dipped and is re-toning. My grade is MS-64. I wouldn't try to have it graded.

Not sure about a prior cleaning, but I would say 64. Its got a hit on the leg and the eagle. Not to bad or distracting though. Not sure about FH but it doesnt have full rivets. I think overall its a nice coin. As to having it slabbed, Just not sure.

I don't think I would slab it. I'm also not sure if it can be called FH. I think it is a nice MS-63 coin it always will have a spot next to my 1917 ty 1 in my type set.

Very nice coin! I'd say a 63 or a 64, but I'm not too sure how to grade these. Beautiful coin though! :thumb:

MS 64 is my guess. Might even be a 65. No full head from me, though.

Would like to see the luster a bit better in order to be more sure though.

Your standing there holding two longguns and you want us to grade your coins? LOL..

I would give this one a MS62, MS64 if you promise not to shoot. : )

    Nice coin.

I'd also give your SLQ an MS64. Certainly not an FH though. Still a beautiful coin. I've got a collection of these in the works also. One of my favorite series.

Not a FH, but so close to MS that I can't tell.
I don't see any rub on Liberty's leg, not any on the eagle's wing or breast.
    Good detail on the shield.
    Better than average strike.

    Nice coin.

    Fooled me with the FH.
I can see where I probably went wrong.
The lighting reflection masked some of the detail.

At least I got the strike and "nice coin" correct.

i guess this means all future SLQ's are going to NGC... ;)

i was going to say 65 and possibly FH, scrolled down to see I was right. I feel good about myself right now - maybe i should start a slabbing, er, grading company ;)

the FH is tough, but it's a 65 for sure.

Knowing NGC gave the FH, I would give them (and the coin) the benefit of the doubt.

That said, I'd like to see a photograph with the light at a different angle/position as to get a better look at the head/hair details. Upon review of the photo, I suspect the area of overexposure in the original photograph makes this area appear more weakly struck than the actual coin.
