help with identifying old roman coin

    Hi I have recently found this coin while metal detecting, if anyone could tell me which coin it is it would be very greatly appreciated

    It needs a little bit of cleaning. tooth brush and tooth picks, to unveil some letters and details. Keep on detecting..

    How big is it? Based on style alone, I'd say it's an unofficially minted antoninianus, or "barbarous radiate" they are especially common in France and the UK.

    Hi it is very small about the size of 1 penny, what would it date from?

    Most likely, mid 3rd century if it is a barbarous antoninianus. But I don't see a radiate crown. To me it looks more like a mid-to-late 4th century nummus. I think you would be safe to call it 3rd - 4th century A.D.

    Hard to tell exactly. I'd see if I could get some of the crust off first. Try a soak in distilled water followed by a toothbrush and toothpick.
