Hey fellow coin peeps, For your viewing pleasure today, I offer this very interesting 1914 Buffalo Nickel. While it's seen better days, it's held up quite well. I only wish I look as good as it does, after hanging around the block for almost 100 years. Nevertheless, if you look closely (will provide better pics when it arrives), you may see something a little odd . . .
Look at the date - under the first "1" then under the ending "4" - there's what appears to be a 2 under the 1 and a 3 under the 4. The 3 is difficult to see without zooming in but I will take close-up photos once it gets here so it isn't so hard to see. I just acquired this and wanted to start the discussion to see if anyone has ever heard of something like this before (1914/2913) because I know about the 1914/3 but have never "herd" of anything like what I see going on with this buffalo (buffalo joke - herd/heard)? Ribbit :smile Ps: What gave it away it's on the obverse?
I thought it was otay to "roll" in coin collecting? Why hog the roll when you can pass it and share the roll? I'm on a roll now! Ribbit

Please heed your own advice! Just because you and I differ on opinion on another thread does not give you the right to harass me within my other threads. You are bordering on harassment and that I will not tolerate! Opinions are one thing but you've now crossed the line. Ribbit :hammer:
Play nice kids. I'm not dogging you, Toadster. You do have to remain super-vigilant on things like this to grab a good bargain once in a while.
Toad, I think you should take close-ups of the date(with a sharp light source) and post them. The coin pictured doesnt seem to show any overlap, but it seems that there is something you are seeing with the coin in hand that we can't see in the pic. thanks, John
So Toad, It's ok for you to call someone you don't know a con-man but you won't tolerate others with an opinion of you? That's harassment? You keep bringing Ken up and you owe him one hell of an apology. Till you do that, what you say is worthless. I thought name calling was not allowed on this board. Is there some reason Toad can do this and others can't? Is it ok if I just come out and call Toad a fool that understands nothing?
No it's not OK - none of it. I have been very tolerant to this point in allowing everyone to express their opinions, but my tolerance nears an end. Let's just say that it stops here and let it go at that.
I didn't "name call" anyone with my last comment and as to Ken, I do believe I retracted that already or did you not see that? But I still think his penny is only worth a penny, but that is here-nor-there and just my opinion. As to Busted Dime's comment, it was purely opinionated and had no place in this post. He came in here solely to harrass me an that should also be against the rules (hello?). Did he say anything about the nickels? Nope! Did he say anything about coins? Nope! At least you talk about coins, or whatever the discussion is about, but Busted Dime's comment had no meaning in here except for harrassing me. If he would have said something that went to my eyesight, that would have been acceptable because that would have gone to the heart of this thread (seeing something on a coin others do not see). The nickels posted here do have "errors" but not all can see them and once I get them in hand, I will take better photos and submit them so those who cant see the errors, with the currently posted pictures, will easily see them with the new pictures and then we can start talking aobut what this thread was about in the beginning - what are these errors? Ribbit, Toad Ps: How many posts, in this thread, has Busted Dime made?
