Not sure if this is a legitimate clipped planchet or not. Not seeing the Blakesley effect, if it’s there it’s hard to notice. Condition otherwise is pretty bad, but does anyone know?

I don't see any evidence of Blakesly Effect. My guess would be damage considering all the rest of the scratches etc on the coin.

It looks like damage to me, too!

This is definitely not a clipped planchet. The straight shear break on the reverse makes that obvious. In addition to the absence of Blakesley Effect, the material at both edges of a real clip in the rim would taper to nothing. No evidence of that here.

The "clip" is so small that it's more likely to be damage than any thing else.
It appears that the coin took some type of hit at that spot.

The rim is continuous all the way around
If it were a clip this could not be.
