It seems that the OP thinks he knows it all. And came here trying to teach us something that he thought he knew.
But alas he is no different than the other newbies that ask a question and then argue with the answers.

    Hang out @Howard Black
    What is that saying
Hire a teenager while they still know it all? Something like that.

Sorry that your feelers are being hurt by the Truth but welcome to the real world.

    John Skelton Morgan man!

Can we get this guy blocked? He rants and raves and likes to show off his skills at manipulating his words instead of trying to put forth a simple question and trying to learn. And I am still stuck on the duck!

Chuckle. You, my friend, are the one who is seeing things that are not there.

It takes a measure of arrogance to insist that you can see a better view of a coin in an image taken with a cheap P&S camera that can be seen on the actual coin.

Golly, why stop there? Why not just take me out back and shoot me? I mean, the nerve of me, to have opinions, and ask questions, and [gasp!] disagree with ex cathedra dicta barked out by people who have never even seen the coin in question. Oh, the humanity!

My feelers are just fine. It's my destroyed spine that's in a world of hurt.

But hey, I'm a 70 year old teenager that's been everything from a Wall Street messenger to a Michigan health commissioner, as well as a photographer, camera repairman, software developer, author, etc., etc., etc.

So God forbid that I have an opinion on how a coin that only I have actually seen actually looks.

You kids remind me of the [expletive deleted] who railed at me in literal rage, screeching that my stupidity prevented me from realizing that the reason my coin's weight was off was because of wear.

My coin was overweight, by the way.

I had taken some more photos -- and a video -- to demonstrate that there is NOT "wear" -- showing how the clear reflections of my fingers, as well as the ring of LEDs on my USB microscope -- could be seen.

But then I realized the futility of trying to reason with those whose minds are made up. So why bother.

The irony is that I was done with this thread, but then I get a list of alerts, and come here to see the pile-on.

    Nice job, welcoming committee.

I've noticed that I'm not the only one to notice the ambient hostility here. It's sad, really sad.

The ambient hostility is on both sides. I generally ignore it and just try to answer the OP's question. But this time, can both sides stop? Truthfully it's not really worth it...

    Howard,
    I see I struck a nerve, and I meant too.:D

You can call try and call our bluff but you aren't gonna get very far. What you hear on CT is usually close to gospel. But, I bet you have a problem with that too?
Hang out, if you need any more "Hard Knocks" we'll be happy to help you out.:)

You seem to be seeing things that don't exist, since this seems to be your only post in this thread. There are various terms for that, but, not knowing your personal particulars, I won't speculate.

As far as striking a nerve, with my crunched spine, you haven't a snowball's chance of landing a strike within even a neighboring zipcode of a nerve -- although I must say you certainly seem to have a nerve, as the saying goes, so I have to wonder why you'd be striking out for more. Greed? "Satisfaction Disorder"? (sorry, I don't have a DSM handy to check if there is such a classification, but maybe you can be the first, if that is your issue?)

I frankly haven't a clue as to what you are raving about, but it does make me lean toward considering "delusional" as a front-runner in the "Why does he see things that don't exist?" department.

Ah... nothing like rolling out religious personal attacks. I thought this was cointalk -- did my DNS get hacked to steer me onto stormfront without my realization?

Is that an offer, a threat, or a promise of more personal attacks?

And what is this "we" of whom you speak? Are you an official spokesman for cointalk? Are you reciting policy at me?

Regardless, I always appreciate it some someone not only makes a personal attack (even if he only thinks he did so) and then boasts of it. I like knowing what sort of person I'm dealing with.

As to my religion? Thanks for dragging that into the mix too. I guess this must be a free-fire zone, or else perhaps you're "above the law" here?

Anyway, to answer your religious personal attack, I was born a Jew, and I was baptized as a Christian at Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Manhattan a half century ago. So, I get the dual benefit of being scorned by "Christians" (of the "CINO" variety) for being a Jew, and disowned by most of my relatives for being a Christian.

So, sonny, I am inured to schoolyard BS like the kind of egotistical self-stroking tripe that you're hacking up like a slimy hairball.

My cats have caused me more harm with their real hairballs than you do with your Keyboard Commando style virtual equivalent, and they like me.

PS: This is a suggestion, and just a suggestion, so feel free to take it under advisement, but I think you might want to consider taking a journey (even if only a short one) outside of Mommy's basement, and seeing what the real world is like.

And since you seem to be itching for a fight, why not walk up to another total stranger, and start mouthing off to him as you have to me?

You may be shocked at the response you evoke when spewing your rage without the benefit of doing so from behind the security of your keyboard, while safely ensconced in Mommy's basement.

PS: I suppose I could simply have said that I've been called worse by better, but I didn't want to strike a nerve.

    HTH, HAND!

And on that note, I am retiring from this thread. Any further personal attacks will, in the words of Bobby Zimmerman, be "Blowin' in the wind."

    OK, what the-- :/

He's posted twice in this thread; it seems you need to have a bit closer attention to detail good sir.

I have perminant spinal cord damage. The doctor's saved me from being paralyzed by cutting off the tops of a number of my vertebrae and performed a special operation. I do my life's work now with constant pain. I no longer have the availability to feel my arms or hands for the most part. I am not poor in spirit.
When I was a small child my father told me to pay particular attention to a man we were admiring at the local mall. He was a quadriplegic. He was making a good living selling his drawings he made using a pencil and only drawing with his mouth.
My father insisted that there is always something one could do to be happy [and earn a living]

And yet he likes that comment... what a dude. Look, there are a bunch of scratches from circulation on bothe the obverse and reverse of both coins, especially on the portrait itself. I would suggest going to pcgs and going through the photo grade to estimate what approximate grade they are (probably a AU or really low MS, certainly not ideal coins to be sent off or even kept). Plus, they're newer. There are probably millions either of the same condition or higher of the same dates, making the value ⤵. And you really shouldn't be ranting on people who are trying to help you.

Both of those Nickels show evidence of circulation wear. The one on the right appears to have semi-proof-like surfaces which may account for the difference you are seeing from the others.

So I’m saying you can add me to this list of people who are telling you that you have two circulated modern Jefferson Nickels with no numismatic value. I don’t know the experience of the others who have already told you this, but good luck finding someone on this forum with more experience with Jefferson Nickels than me.

I have no intention to argue with you, quite the opposite. You mentioned that you could send them to a TPG, and I would like to offer you an incentive. If you send those coins to a TPG and they come back uncirculated, I will pay you double the cost of the grading fees.

We have zero personal attacks. It will take you a little bit to figure out that nothing around here is SUgAR coated.
If you want answers we are here to help.
I would ask that you take @Lehigh96 offer. That's a heck if a deal.
And I guarantee his offer. If he doesn't pay then I will.

That story of the man in the mall, is pretty touching. Your dad must've been a real good man to have noticed something so small most would not think twice about. I hope you're holding up well despite your pain :(

I will never forget that day. I will never forget that man's strength. I hold all of my Father's teachings dearly in my heart. There is nothing that will hold me back from being the best me that I can be:) My Dad continues to lead by example and inspire.
