Most of the books are in German. I have a German English dictionary and a German numismatic dictionary (free download on line) to help but generally the language isn't a big problem. The presentation is primarily pics that I talked about as they were shown, not really a stand alone document.

Also, you may see a notgeld book by Cofing (forget the title). It is reasonably priced, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's just a general checklist with some pics

See here. And post #2 in that thread has the non-censored version of that bill. ;)

I recall seeing several dealers offering 2500 count ALL DIFFERENT lots described as
    STARTER SETS. Enjoy.

Arnold Keller, the German notgeld cataloguer, once said that his collection was about 75,000 pieces shy of being complete.

Here are some books I use. Paper Money Messages, isn't for identification, but provides the back stories behind the notes. Vol 2 is primarily Notgeld, and there is an explanation of the Paderborn series. Now go ahead and get hooked on the inexpensive notgeld, then buy the not so inexpensive books (Actually I can't remember the exact costs, but all of the books were reasonably priced)
