I have been roll hunting most of the day, and I just happened to glance at the eye and it looked faintly doubled to the north east. Also, there seemed to be some extra beard. I honestly don't know what to make of this. Help is appreciated. Thanks!
I honestly don't see anything on the eye. The part where you think the beard is doubled is probably just environmental damage.
The part on the beard comes up to the same height as the beard itself, and the coin is in pretty good condition. Refer to the arrows for the eye, but I've only seen a couple examples of doubled eyes in person, so I could be mistaken.
I'm no expert, so I don't know for sure. Let's wait for the experts. I'm sure they will have a better answer for you.
Hi Imho, I see what you’re referring to. It is difficult to tell how that occurred but I also see it took a hit (scratch)across the eyelid. that may have resulted in that indentation.
Yeah, I see the scratch you're referring to, and, with the coin in hand, I'm pretty sure the part is raised, but the scratch obviously goes into the coin
