The following bronze coin was struck in Damascus under Philip I. The legend DAMAS in Latin is clearly visible. It commemorated the "Olympic Games" which were held there apparently. The second coin is a scarce silver Tet under Gordian III head-left. It was struck at Antioch. Prieur 298.

The composition on the reverse of the coin you're referring to has been copied from a famous bronze designed by Eutychides, circa 300 BC. The bronze figure below is a miniature copy about the same age as the original.
