Many chain strikes come off with rounded edges leaving doubt as to whether they really go together. However, these 2 dimes are flat along the edge and would form perfectly lined-up pieces edge to each edge. I don't imagine how else this pair could have been discovered other than found in a Mint-sealed bag. A nice example and my first mated pair for a chain strike error type. MS64 (both) by NGC. And sorry, guys. I am no longer showing labels. ~Joe Cronin
Nice mated pair, Joe. Wonder how you can distinguish a chain strike and a regular off center. Is it on the metal flow lines?
