Oh, man! No, no, no! No pardons necessary, mein Herr! On the face of it (the coin - that which we could see) you were correct. I want and need feedback like yours so I can double check my conclusions and records. Triple-checking doesn't hurt much, either. By the fourth-check, I might actually remember. So, again, no apologies or requests for pardons! Thank you for taking the time to question, my friend.

I really like the way we can all be friendly and polite on here. Well, some guys aren't, or weren't (no names mentioned), and perhaps they are down the road now.
I should have realized that a silver gulden minted at Denver in 1943 would not have been for issue in the Nazi occupied home country. I have collected (I think) all the zink coins of the Netherlands during WWII, also from many other countries. Even Switzerland, Austria, Iceland and Germany issued zink coins during some of those years. There is so much history to learn from our coin collecting.

    Well said, Ed!

I am sort'a shocked that I have nothing dated 1805. So, I will keep us in the Netherlands East Indies with this here 2.5-cent from 1914 (KM 316).

This is my main area of collecting, Dutch East Indies and VOC. Here is a 1765 Java silver rupee 1765 Java 1 r obv.JPG 1765 Java 1 r rev.JPG

1765 Holland 2 stuivers. It is my understanding that these coins also circulated in the Dutch East Indies, as I have acquired quite a few from Indonesia. 1765 H 2 s obv.JPG 1765 H 2 s rev.JPG

I think this works . . . a 1785 one-duit from the city of Utrecht during the republic period (KM 91). Here are my thoughts; coin_nut said the 1765 two stuivers "also circulated in the Dutch East Indies," implying the coin also circulated in Holland. Good? Bad? Ugly?

KM (KM #48) identifies Ed's coin as a two-stuivers or a double wapenstuiver, 1.62 grams with 0.0304 ASW. It says 1,336,747 were minted in 1765.

    Here is some VOC silver, a 1 gulden from Zeeland and an X stuivers (half gulden) from Gelderland. I copy 1791 VOC Z 1 g obv.JPG 1791 VOC Z 1 g rev.JPG 1786 VOC G X s obv.JPG 1786 VOC G X s rev.JPG some words from Numista:

"Though struck for East Indies, coins with VOC monogram were also used in South Africa which was then still a Dutch colony, and the Dutch East India Company periodically unloaded in Capetown from its ships some of the copper and silver coinage on its way to East Indies."

All right! So, somewhat risky again, I'll infer from coin_nut's write up that we can play from South Africa - as well 1786 or 1791. Good inference? Or a lousy inference with unforeseen repercussions?

I'm playing off of 1786 with this here half penny from the Isle of Man, graced with the likeness of George III, by the grace of God!

That is one sweet coin, coin_nut! Green with envy, as usual.

Just for grins and giggles, I'll keep us in the Isle of Man. But I'll take us back to 1971 with this here fifty new pence (KM 24)! Decimal-ized LSD.

I regard most of the Isle of Man coins as "instant collectibles", in other words, not very highly. Real business strikes like yours, especially that old one, are much more interesting to me.

Not much change fourteen years later. 1995 Kuwait 100-fils (KM 14). However, coin_nut's much older coin looks to be in much better condition.
