A lot of the zinc cents have problems like this, it almost looks like a cud, or a die chip on the rim, these cents made out of zinc are soft and prone to PMD.

It could be a plating blister, or caused from a damaged die.
I would sooner think it is a blister.

Merged the duplicate threads, as the author had reported the error herself.

Interesting. I wonder if this could be an example of ejection doubling. The rising anvil die causes the coin to make contact with the hammer die causing faint doubling, strongest on the relief areas.

That was encased in something. The flat perimeter gives it away.

No it isn't just an encasement. There is definitely something going on. An encasement wouldn't cause the second top of the head or the raised non reversed RUST on the rim in just the right place.

@Conder101, are you hearing voices again? I didn't hear anybody say or for that matter so much as even imply it was "just an encasement."

Having said that, I agree with the rest you said.

Its obvious what your question is. I don't understand why they are showing such lack of interest. Matter of fact some of the responses are rude. I notice that alot. I wonder if ther is a moderator?
