Hey everyone, While reviewing the Roman provincial coins of Didyma, I encountered one whose mint was indicated as "Cycicus". Does anyone know where this mint is located? Thank you for your help!
Yes David, but I'm assuming the author (Hans Baldus) couldn't have made a typo and written "Cycicus" instead of "Cyzicus". So "Cycicus" must be another place different from Cyzicus/Kyzikos... Or you're right and Cycicus is really a typo...
I've never actually seen that spelling and assumed it was an old version of Cyzicus. I believe it is the same city, the ANA has an article that mentions that old spelling.

I don't think the author can be referring to a city other than Cyzicus since the coin he references - RIC 233 - is presently attributed to Cyzicus. I've never seen the spelling that he uses either.
