    ....on a rainy day?

I was catching up on some of my scrapbooking and thought y'all would get a kick out of seeing how Joe likes to spend a yucky day :)

The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree apparently :D

ndgoflo...I sure am! He's the best kid. He can even out-last ME at a coin show. He's one of a kind :D

cdb...Not since you were 6?!?! Time for you to head to the bank and pick up a few rolls to take you back to your roots...lol, afterall, isn't that how we all started out? Fun way to kill a rainy day.

He's growing like a weed, ain't he? LOL

Enjoy these little moments while you can, Robin.
All too soon, he'll be grown-up and out on his own.

Tell Joe that your online friends think he's a pretty cool kid.

It's been going on since I was 6, about 48 years ago. There is a photo of me sleeping in an overstuffed chair with my bright shiny (polished with an eraser) Indian head cent collection in an old blue Whitman folder spread open in my lap somewhere in my mother's effects. Haven't seen it in about 40 years, but your photo reminded me of it.

P.S. Lots of rainy days in Portland.

Looks like you're bringing him up right! What a little cutie! (I can hear it now- "Oh yuk! A girl said I was cute!") :D

My "kid" has four feet and fur, so she's not much help with the coin collection... :)

Very nice. My boy is only three years now, but I've taken a few moments to show him different coins (I've already started a collection for him, since around when he was born). He's very interested, but for now he just likes carrying coins around in his pocket. :)

Cisco...Yeah, he studies them VERY closely. I'll never forget how excited he was when he first discovered that Lincoln was on BOTH sides of the cent! After discovering that little goody I figured the kid deserved to get a nice 10x wide field loupe of his own...His hair is sort of a reddish blonde. Beautiful, they don't make THAT color in a bottle...I've tried

Jody...I've told him about all of you guys on here, he likes to come look over my shoulder and see his pic in my avatar and look at everyone's coin pics in the posts. He thinks he's famous, LOL :D

Kyra...Unfortunately he doesn't find girls gross...yet. He's dangerous with the ladies actually. We go to lunch at Hooters and he winks at all of the girls and does his raising the 1 eyebrow trick. *SIGH*...I'm gonna have my hands full with this one ;)

Peter...I started Joe in this with me when he was really young too. He knows that all I have and all that came from my Dad when he passed will one day be his. But I have also started a separate collection especially for him that he doesn't know about. I've been picking up bullion pieces (world and US) and other random sets and pieces dated for his birthyear. These I plan on stashing away for him to find some day after my husband and I are gone. My special gift to him.

One thing that I can say for sure...sharing this hobby with my son has brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. I treasure the memories that we are creating and cherish each moment shared.

In honor of a movie released in 1977 (whose 3rd and final prequel is to be released this May), and said in my best James Earl Jones voice, ...

"The Force is strong with this one."

collect4fun...LOL, can't adopt ya but if you ever find yourself out this way would be more than happy to take you to lunch there :D . I love the wings but my hubby & son love the 'talent'. LOL, go figure! That's our regular stop after the local coin shows or before heading to the coin shop on the weekends.

Oh man! You can say that again~never a dull moment with this little guy around.
