1885 CC Morgan Dollar - What Grade?

    Agree with VG-08 because it is an 1885 CC.
    Any other coin in this condition, perhaps G-06.
    Personally all coins should be graded equally and on the same scale,
    but that's not how it works. Key dates and old silver (and old copper)
    are shown favoritism and a little more leniency in grading.

    VG-7, just ahead of Good-6, and it's rare in that condition. Most 1885-CC's are Mint State.

    65% of the original mintage of 85cc's were held by the GSA until 1964. Therefore in theory it would be harder to find one in this condition than it would be in MS and the values reflect that. You can get an MS64 for roughly twice what you would pay for one in VG condition. Find another coin where this is true.

    VG-08 Environmental Damage (If that's pitting on the reverse).
