coin errors

    I have a 1944 D wheat penny it weights 2.67 and looks to be copper why is it so light

    likes worn but can read everything but likes thinner then most pennies

    If the cent is thinner and also less wider than a normal bronze cent one, it is an acid treated cent. It reduces the cent from all directions and does so proportionally, so the letters and such appear almost normal, not non-readable. Jim
