    Conservation of this coin? Maybe get to AU50 ?? Thank you

    Why would you want to conserve this coin? It's a common date and mint.
    You can find a much better example for $10.
    Also, your coin will never make AU. It looks cleaned, and isn't even XF.
    The coin is worth melt value, either way.

    No, this will not grade A.U. Too much of the design is worn away. Plus it has been cleaned/polished at some point.

    It's worth it's weight in silver. It's a common date, cleaned and worn half. No way will it ever grade AU. I wouldn't even grade it Fine.

    You see how the face and figure are all worn away?
    And no detail on the eagle?
    VG-10 if not cleaned.

    Stop looking at how shiny the coin is and pay attention to what details are left on the coin. That’s how you determine grade.

    Not even close to AU. You might get VF if you were very lucky. You could also get “cleaned.”
