Just as a heads up so you don't waste a bunch of time making a list if you don't have the labels anymore they're not going to remove any of them, and if you do still have them all you have to do is send them back the labels
My experience with NGC - I did send a note to NGC when I crossed one of my coins over the PCGS (to complete a PCGS set), including all of the pertinent information from their slab label. I never heard a word back from NCG.
A note would not have been enough as the TPGs can’t verify just based on someone’s word (even if you’re the most trustworthy person in the world ). Sending the label back proves the coin is no longer in the holder.
It could in certain segments (like higher grades where people have tried multiple times with the same coins and thus skewed the numbers). I doubt it would make much of a difference on many common coins (like 63-65 Morgans). A big issue is that the incentive isn’t there for most people to send their labels back. The 50 cent credit per label isn’t worth the time. And others might just not care about pop reports. It would be nice to find a solution, but I’m not sure if there is a good one.
I agree with you and I offered to send the label back (my apologies for leaving this info out of my message). In any event, I did not hear back from them.
I’ve had that happen before too where there is no reply (from various sources). It’s a combination of them being too busy and that the issue isn’t of great importance (they may want to have the most accurate pop reports, but there isn’t enough incentive on their end either).
