Hi all! I found out a little while ago that I got the internship at the ANA I applied for. I will be the 2008 Harry W. Bas Jr. Numismatic Intern. Woot!
Yes. From June 1st to late July I will be at the ANA headquarters working with the museum, library, and others in order to prepare a report on $2, $3 and $4 gold pieces; their history, use and eventual end. After that I am being flown out to Baltimore to assist with dealer registration at the Worlds Fair of Money. I also get to take a free seminar class. Looks to be a fun summer.
Congratulations on the appointment :hail: Hope that you have a great time, and develope a much deeper understanding of coins as well :thumb:
Ah, my successor! Congratulations! Trust me, this will open up doors to you that you didn't even know EXISTED! My advice - when you're working in the museum, work with as many coins that you are unfamiliar with as possible. And I do mean unfamiliar - my biggest regret was not working with the ANA's Chinese coins and learning about them. HAVE FUN!
Congrats! This is an outstanding opportunity, and you will most likely learn more in a summer than you thought possible.
